Futah

For individuals or for the whole family, Futah beach towels are made entirely of cotton.

Text: Ana Dias Ferreira

Two sisters and two countries are behind Futah – the brand is Portuguese, the cotton is Egyptian, in some cases 100% organic.

Mariana and Catarina Cunha chose this raw material because it is lighter and dries faster, which is what you want when talking about beach towels. Since 2013 they have been designing the fun patterns for each model, whether it’s the singular, the children’s or the XL, for four people.

For once, if someone says “you’ve got a bobcat in the towel”, it’s no reason to jump up and run. The beach brand Futah has teamed up with Associação Natureza Portugal and the World Wide Fund for Nature to create a towel collection inspired by three endangered animals in our country. They are the black stork, the Iberian lynx and the seahorse, each drawn with geometric lines and in a different tone.
Ten percent of the sale of these limited edition towels goes to conservation projects for the species represented.
