Life in a bag

Small bags to plant between four walls.

Text: Mariana Abreu Garcia

It was after many years of littering the house with plants that Pedro Veloso and Alexandra Silva turned their hobby into a business and created, in 2013, Life in a Bag. He was a computer engineer and she was a designer and a teacher, but the praise of friends and family for the green mess they had spread around the house made them realize that there were many people interested in planting between four walls who did not do it because they found it too difficult, time-consuming or demanding. It was necessary to uncomplicate.
The brand then appears in the form of these “living bags” that combine sustainability with a minimalist design, using reusable and biological materials – such as the grow cork, a cork pot that allows you to grow from chilli peppers to pansies, passing through the surprising Christmas pine tree, or the postcards with illustrations and sayings, also to plant in the earth.
All products come with their own container, soil, seeds and the following instructions. The bestsellers are herbs, but there are also starter bags (bags for beginners) with strong ingredients such as watermelon, courgette, pumpkin, eggplant, tomatoes and carrots.
