Children’s stories with wolves there are several, and in 2012 began writing the Wolf & Rita, which quickly proved not to be just another one. With a dazzling international career and dozens of appearances in fashion editorials, the children’s clothing brand asserted itself for its unique style and conquered the European and Asian market.
“Our motto is ‘buy local, produce local, sell internationally’”, says Cláudia Rocha, who launched the brand together with her sister, Sónia – Wolf comes from her husband and campaign photographer Carlos Lobo – when they both went to work for their father’s shirt production company in Guimarães and realized that “the children’s clothing market was fascinating because it allowed for less classic approaches.”
“You can make pieces that are much funnier than for adults,” says Sónia. The brand’s history has proven this and is filled with graphic patterns – designed by the creative team itself –, exaggerated collars and strong colors, in themed collections that draw inspiration from art, cinema and music, from Bossa Nova to António Variações .
