Tesla’s electric car charger launches the motto: at Craveiral, the idea is to respect nature and live simply, with the comfort of modern life. Located in São Teotónio, on the Alentejo coast, the farm opened its doors in 2018 and was born from the vision of lawyer Pedro Franca Pinto, who as a legal advisor in the hotel sector saw many examples of what he did not want to do.
Interestingly, Tesla’s charger is one of the few technological traces in sight. Inside the 38 houses, equipped with kitchen and decorated with design pieces of the Portuguese brands DAM and WeWood, the televisions were strategically hidden behind an Alentejo blanket and it is the salamander that gains prominence.
Outdoors, there are nine hectares to discover, with wooden walkways connecting the various buildings – each with its own porchs – two swimming pools, bicycles for children and adults, a vegetable garden that supplies the restaurant (and the pizzas made in the huge wood oven), and above all a friendly fauna that takes the concept of farm to heart and that includes a family of donkeys, a couple of pigs, a goat and her cub, a chicken coop with chickens and ducks, horses and even cats and dogs to remember that space is pet friendly. All this 15 minutes from Zambujeira do Mar, 25 if it is by dirt roads, in jeeps that can also be rented by guests.
