In 2011, they were among the first to take modern architecture to alentejo. And they took it big, with a contemporary promontory design inspired by the Roman and Arab houses with patios and a hotel that was soon spoken by its sky suites, where the huge skylights strategically placed above the beds allow to fall asleep under the famous starry sky of the region. The interior decoration also has an architect’s finger and was made by Brazilian Márcio Kogan, using various works of art. On the outside, no one gets cold or hot thanks to the outdoor fireplace and shower placed on the terrace of each of the 22 suites.
As the name implies, these are vineyard lands, and there are several wine tourism programs integrated into the stay, from commented tastings to tours, through courses held in the hotel’s own wine rye and massages at L’and Spa by Caudalie, where one of the exclusive treatments involves an exfoliation with grape grains. In the restaurant, long conducted by Miguel Laffan, who even won a Michelin star, is the chef José Tapadejo responsible for reinterpreting alentejo cuisine with spices from the East, techniques in vogue such as fermentation and even a Scandinavian touch.
