In a small farm in Minho, the Melgaço Alvarinho Houses were born. There are two houses, one T2 and another T3, which can unite through an underground cellar and operate “in full privacy”. The smallest results from the recovery of an existing ruin on the property and is all in stone, the largest was made from scratch and is a contemporary construction
three-story, vigot-coated – the same pillars used to hold the vineyards.
The architectural project was in charge of the Correia/Ragazzi studio, from Porto, and both houses, with the wooden interior, are fully equipped and operate on a self catering basis, with a welcome basket full of local products – including alvarinho wine made with the grapes of the property, in the nearby Quinta de Melgaço.
With two hectares, the land also has a swimming pool that takes advantage of one of the terraces and has, therefore, panoramic views of the centuries-old vineyards. In the same cellar that unites the houses, when the farm is reserved in full, can happen, on request, wine tastings held in partnership with producers of the Alvarinho Route.
