Adega Mayor
Architect: Siza Vieira
In the Alentejo plain of Campo Maior stands majestically the creation of the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira that emerged, in 2007, to honor wine and life. A horizontal building, whitewashed and divided into three floors, the last intended to receive tourists eager for a glass of wine with the Adega Mayor seal – this is where the tasting room is located, which opens onto a panoramic terrace equipped with a central water mirror. And if on the outside the eyes skirt the little that there is to get around the building of straight lines, inside there are monumental spaces intended for the production and storage of wines that, born there, have already gained fame (and profit).
