Porventura
Perhaps one of our most inventive furniture brands.
Text: Ana Dias Ferreira
Filipe Ventura changed his life radically: in 2011, he left his job as an accountant to learn carpentry at the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation. After working in a small workshop with his father, in Graça, in 2017 he decided to raise the bar and launched the furniture brand Porventura.
One of the star pieces is the Torta desk designed by Miguel Soeiro, resident designer. The sloping construction makes it the center of attention, but it is not the only one: Icon is the reinterpretation of the Portuguese chair, also known as Gonçalo; Rule is the multifaceted bookcase, designed by Filipe in the days of the old workshop; Sandbox is the do-it-yourself trimmer; and Alto is the bar stool with the charm of other times, among many other creations. Collaboration with designers is one of Porventura’s fronts, as well as production made in Portugal, more precisely in Paços de Ferreira.
