The courtyard is really the heart of this guesthouse that opened in 2019 in The Village of Meco. All the windows of the main house are facing there, all suites (four) have entrance on this side, and all attention is drawn to the pool in the center, round to honor the wells of the old courtyards.
Recovering a rural tradition and bringing it to the present was the goal of the owner Bruno Coelho, who inherited the property from his grandparents and relied on the architect Fábio Ferreira Neves to recover the ruined house, the winery and the old hen house, keeping not only the spirit of the place, right in the historical center, but also the two olive trees that were already there. From the outside in, the contemporaneity of architecture continues in the interiors, with the all-white kitchen that can be used by guests, in the main house, the concrete beams on the long table where breakfasts are served, the modern fireplace of the living room or even the many Vitra pieces used in the decoration.
Located two kilometres from the beaches and within walking distance of the coveted fish and seafood restaurants, the guesthouse can only be rented exclusively, either by a couple – who keep the property on their own – or by a group of up to eight people.
